Keith Carne is a drummer, composer and multi instrumentalist. For the last 12 years he’s held the drum chair in the indie-pop band We Are Scientists. In between tours he records and performs with a diverse collection of musical acts like Sean McVerry, Gem County, Keith And Bestamo, Silver Slugger and Ashton York — groups whose sound ranges from expressive, lyrical pop to ambient jazz-rock. Keith operates a drum studio in midtown Manhattan where he records musical tracks for artists across all sorts of genres. A dedicated teacher, Keith has communicated his approach to the drum set to peer drummers and aspiring musicians for the last 22 years. He has written over 20 articles for Modern Drummer Magazine from product reviews and educational columns to features and obituaries. He holds bachelors degrees in jazz music performance and journalism from Rutgers University. Outside of drums and music, he loves hot dogs, martinis, the Green Bay Packers, and cinema (especially the films of Robert Altman).
